I got push-polled yesterday

Push-poll definition

It was probably sponsored by the ilk of Grover Norquist or Jon Caldera. It went something like this:

(Machine voice): "Hello. This is a paid political poll. Do you agree that illegal immigration is a serious problem in Colorado today?"

(I said, "Yes", because, well, I do think it is a problem in Colorado today)

(Machine) "This November 1, Colorado voters will be asked to approve Referendum C, which will divert state money to fund programs to support illegal aliens. Do you agree that state money should not be spent this way" (or words to that effect)

(I said, hopping mad, "I think you guys are a bunch of losers for deliberately attempting to confuse the two issues")

(Machine) "This poll will conclude if a Yes or No answer is not provided within 15 seconds"

(I said, "Go to hell" and hung up the phone)

I sure hope Grover and Jon get the message. It probably does not accomplish anything. But it was definitely cathartic.
